Keeping Our Vision in View

Pray that God will help us transform our entire city by bringing about a spiritual revolution in the people and institutions of Chicago.

The Effectiveness of Our Evangelism Depends on Prayer

Lord, may your hand be with the members of our church as we spread the gospel, giving us fruit and success.

A Promise of Answers to Prayer and Faith

Mark 11:22–24 says, “And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” ESV

A Promise of Protection

Psalm 121:5–6 says, “The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.”

A Promise of Wisdom

James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (ESV)

A Promise of Healing and Health

James 5:13–18 - “{13} Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. {14} Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. {15} And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. {16} Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. {17} Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. {18} Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.”

A Promise of Full Provision

Matthew 6:31–33 says, “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

An Exhortation from Jesus

Take care and be on our guard against all covetousness (Luke 12:15).

The Reliability of the Bible

Isaiah 40:8 ESV says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
