Lake Shore Church

From Pastor’s Desk

A weekly word for the congregation — encouragement, Scripture, and what’s ahead.

This week from Pastor’s Desk

Pastor Brian’s weekly word to Lake Shore.

Dear Lake Shore Church family,

We will meet this Wednesday on Zoom call only, NOT in-person.

This Sunday we receive Communion.

In nine days, on Wednesday, August 5th, we will have another Midweek meeting at Millenium Park to enjoy fellowship at a concert.

You can listen to the audio of yesterday’s sermon here: Receiving Fullness in Jesus.

Keeping Our Vision in View

Pray that we can buy a church home or lease larger space 24/7 that enables us to expand ministry. Acts 19:8–10 shows how strategic a meeting place can be.

The Effectiveness of Our Evangelism Depends on Prayer

Lord, I ask you to convince lost souls in Chicago of the truths of the gospel. Convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment and call them to God. When the members of our church spread the gospel to them, cause it to come with power, with the Holy Spirit, with deep conviction, and with full revelation of its meaning.

A Promise of Answers to Prayer and Faith

Matthew 21:22 says, “Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive” (NKJV).

A Promise of Protection

Psalm 55:22 ESV – “Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

A Promise of Wisdom

Job 12:13 ESV – “With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.”

A Promise of Healing and Health

Matthew 9:29–30 ESV – “Then he touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith let it be done to you. And their eyes were opened.’”

A Promise of Full Provision

Deuteronomy 28:2, 8, says, “All these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God…. The LORD will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.”

Much love,

Pastor Brian
