Day 33 in 40 Days of Joy

Title: Joy and Endurance

Scripture: Hebrews 12:1–2 says,

“let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Main Idea: When we put our hope in future joy with the Lord, we can endure anything.

More: This verse says Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before him. Joy is motivating. Hoping in joy to come is motivating. Joy is what we seek, and God is the only enduring source. It awaits you in heaven.

Is there something you feel you can’t endure any longer? Do it for God’s sake and set your hope on the rewards that await you for obeying the Lord.

Faith and Worship Declarations: Thank you,  Lord,  for the joy you have set before me. I will endure  all things for the joy that you will give me someday and for the joy I have already in you.
