Day 29 in 40 Days of Joy

Title: Exceeding Joy

Scripture: Isaiah 35:10 says,

“The ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

Main Idea: When we experience God’s final and ultimate salvation, our joy will not be the mild joy of a faint smile, but rather it will be exceeding joy without a hint of sorrow.

More: This verse makes its point by repetition. It describes us as having joy “upon our heads,” which suggests joy coming on us like a downpour of rain or like sunshine on a clear day.

Faith and Worship Declarations: I have overwhelming joy. Thank you, Lord, that everlasting joy will be upon my head.
