Title: Joy and the Holy Spirit
Scripture: Galatians 5:22–23
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
Main Idea: When the Holy Spirit is controlling your heart, joy will be present.
More: Notice that joy is second in the list after love. Joy is important. A fully spiritual life must be a joyful life.
The Holy Spirit is joyful, and when you are filled and led by the Spirit, you will be joyful.
One key to being filled with the Holy Spirit is to choose to rejoice in the Lord. In this way you tune your heart to his; you get in step with him; you get in his mood. You don’t quench his presence through negativity.
Faith and Worship Declarations: I have the joy of the Holy Spirit. My joy does not depend on my mood or situation, but on the Holy Spirit. I praise you, O God, for you are joyful, and you share your joy with me.
