Title: Peace and Joy
Scripture: Proverbs 12:20 says,
“Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.”
Main Idea: Peacemakers have joy.
For Hungry Readers: This verse sets up a contrast between devising evil and planning peace, between deceit and joy. Broken relationships are the fast way to misery. Conflict, hostility, malice, grudges, arguments, resentment—all are grievous to the soul.
But joy takes over in the heart of those who love and pursue peace. Forgiveness brings joy. Reconciliation brings joy. Goodwill brings joy. Restored relationships bring joy because loving relationships are life’s great, lasting treasures.
Is there a broken relationship you need to take the initiative to mend? Plan for peace today, and joy awaits you.
Faith Declarations: My heart overflows with the joy that comes from planning for peace.
