Title: What Can Bring Joy to Our City
Scripture: Acts 8:5–8
“Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. 6 And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. 7 For unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, crying with a loud voice, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was much joy in that city.”
Main Idea: Nothing brings more joy to a city than the message and works of Christ.
For Hungry Readers: There is much sorrow in our city, but that can change, dramatically. Where the devil has his way, ruining lives and institutions, wrecking our culture, the good news of Christ can come through us. We can bring deliverance through Christ. We can heal the sick through Christ. We can bring much joy to our city.
Faith Declarations: By faith we declare that our city of Chicago is overflowing with the joy of the Lord.
