Day 17 — Tuesday, March 21st
Scripture: Psalm 23:5
“My cup overflows”
Main Idea: God shows his favor with abundance.
For Hungry Readers: Imagine yourself eating at God’s table. He serves the food and then comes to pour your drink. He pours and keeps pouring. The glass overflows. That is a picture of the generous, bountiful heart of God. He is not careless, but generous. He wants you to know how great is his love for you.
You may feel that overflow in some areas of life more than others. As you pray about possible causes for a lack of abundance in material or spiritual things, one to consider is your own generosity of spirit in all things. Are you a generous giver to God and others (in material ways, in time, in help)?
Second Corinthians 9:6–8 says, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”
Faith Declarations: My cup overflows. God gives to me with abundance.
