Day 12 — Thursday, March 16th
Title: Pleasure in Showing Favor
Scripture: Luke 12:29–32
Jesus said, “And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Italics added)
Main Idea: God finds pleasure in having favor toward you. He enjoys giving you the kingdom as well as adding to it food and drink and all your provision.
For Hungry Readers: You may feel as though God is reluctant to give you good things, but that isn’t so. He is willing to give you the very best thing available—the kingdom of God—and therefore he is also willing to give you relatively minor things like food and drink, clothing and shelter. God is not reluctant to answer prayer, though it may seem like it as we wait for answers. God enjoys answering more than you enjoy receiving. He has favor toward you because he finds pleasure in that. When you believe this, fear and worry evaporate.
Faith Declarations: My Father in heaven finds pleasure in showing me favor.
