Day 5 — 40 Days of God’s Favor

Day 5 — Thursday, March 9th

Scripture: Romans 8:28 says, “We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

Main Idea: The promise of Romans 8:28 proves God’s favor. God brings good from every circumstance in a Christian’s life because he wants our highest good. To be in God’s favor means that he always works things out for your highest good.

For Hungry Readers: When we believe Romans 8:28, we are healed of pessimism, negativity, and cynicism. Every situation becomes hopeful, for there is guaranteed good in it. When bad happens, we will not be overcome by anger, fear, sadness, despair. We will not adopt the mindset of a depressed victim.

God has the power, wisdom, foreknowledge, and control to redeem anything. He is greater than Satan, greater than demons, greater than evil people and circumstances. There is no such thing as bad luck or tough breaks. God rules, not chance. God has the final say, not evil. And God has infinite, absolute favor toward you.

Faith Declarations: God will bring me good from every current situation in my life. God redeems every situation. Every situation is for my highest good and God’s highest glory. I will focus by faith on the good that God will bring about rather than the bad I see with my eyes.
