My Lake Shore Church family,
Our monthly fasting-and-prayer meeting on Saturday morning will be delayed one week to April 9th at the usual time, 10:00. If you have never attended one of these meetings, I urge you to embark on a spiritual adventure and experience the rewards this time of seeking the Lord brings. When we draw near to God, he draws near to us.
God is with us. His steadfast love never ceases. He is good to those who wait on him. This Sunday I will deliver another message in the series on waiting on the Lord. The message is, “God’s Eagles Are Those Who Wait for Him,” based on Isaiah 40:31: “They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
I recommend that you listen to this 16-minute audio from John Piper titled How Our Faith and Law-Keeping Work Together in the Christian Life. This message goes in depth into the essential truths of the gospel.
In the postscript of this email I have included the faith declaration that we made after my second sermon on waiting on the Lord. I suggest you use this declaration regularly regarding the things that cause you to feel impatient with the Lord.

Wow, is this good news: Isaiah 14:24 says, “The LORD of hosts has sworn: ‘As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand.’”
In the love of Jesus,

I will wait for the Lord as long as it takes. If God chooses, I will wait for the Lord for a lifetime.
