The first key thought from yesterday’s sermon “Called to Faith”

Here is the first of five key thoughts this week from yesterday’s message, titled “Called to Faith.” This is the first message in a new series titled “The Faith That Jesus Expects.”

Mark 11:22–24 teaches that the faith that Jesus expects is more than saving faith, but faith that receives answers to prayer and can even bring miracles. Jesus does not treat little faith as a small matter that we can ignore because it is difficult or risky or frowned on by doubters.

Mark 11:22–24 says, “And Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be taken up and thrown into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.’”
